As Part of Choosing Wisely® Campaign: SCAI Issues List of Tests and Treatments to Avoid
SCAI recently issued a list of five specific, evidence-based recommendations that should be avoided in the care of patients who have or are at risk for cardiovascular disease. Expert Consensus Document Outlines Recommendations to Improve Quality and Safety as Increasing Number of PCIs Are Performed Without On-Site Surgical Backup
The increasing number of PCIs being performed at low-volume centers without on-site cardiac surgery backup has driven the need for new safety and quality protocols, according to an expert consensus document recently released and written by a committee representing the SCAI, ACCF, and AHA.
